How Proper Church Outreach Can Lead To Growth

By Tammie Caldwell

One of the responsibilities that Jesus left to his disciples is to go into the world and make new followers. The church doctrine requires that people go out and minister the gospel to others. It is, for this reason, that churches have a ministry that is responsible for reaching out to people who do not know the faith. What is church outreach and its impact to a society?

It is a negative trend, and Christians need to change because how will we be able to fulfill the great commission if we live such life. Churches can also tap the potential of the internet and preach the gospel to a wider reach of people. In the olden days, Christ would teach in the open air where he met people, and he was able to preach without any problem.

There are many churches in this day and age that has transformed the lives of people because of preaching the word in open air areas or holding conventions. The internet is also expanding to areas that missionaries could not reach in the olden days. Now with a click of a button a person can reach sermons or stream live services from the comfort of their home.

A Christian establishment that desires to grow and reach different parts of their locality has no excuse because there are many avenues that they can use. If you are a pastor, you can train your members of the new ways to do outreach. You first need to look at the social gatherings that people like and use the same activities to organize a church function.

From that point, you can now preach to these people. Outreach is the backbone of every church some of the fastest growing prayer centers have mastered the art of making the churches a family. When there is love in the church people would want to spend more time there. Most family establishments lack the direction, and it has made the society decay.

It is a habit that is making some Christians to live in their confines, and they tend to believe that way they will have achieved their mission. If you see the life that Christ used to live you will see that he walked and dinner with people that others thought were outcast in the society.

Jesus says in the bible that he is the truth, way and life and that if any person wishes to go to the father it must be through him. That means that pastors should begin to preach the true gospel of the father, son and holy spirit. Some pastors are in the habit of preaching money and other life issues forgetting that they are called into the ministry as servants of God.

The Bible teaches that those that will emulate the example of Jesus will get bigger crowns when the time of inheriting the kingdom. We have the potential to succeed in outreach ministry because we have the holy spirit that guides us each day. Some individuals in the Christian faith think it is the work of the pastors and the ministers to preach. But little did they know that the walk to heaven is a shared responsibility and outreach are the best way we can reach everyone near us.
