Las Vegas Convention Vendors And Trade Shows

By Miranda Sweeney

Las Vegas is a popular destination for convention goers, entertainment enthusiasts, gamblers, vendors and others. When it comes to setting up a convention, the Las Vegas Convention Vendors is an association that can help with organizing a conference or convention in the city.

As there are many different types of events which take place in the city each year, there are opportunities for vendors from all over the world. Whether setting up as a non-profit booth, or one which is designed to make money, it is important that the product or service be in line with the theme of the event. When this is the case, events are often far more successful when it comes to overall sales.

Before setting up a vending area, there are some things which are good to know. One is to be sure there is enough space for the booth, chairs, staff, standing room, visitors and product. People will not stop when feeling claustrophobic. Another, is to provide a pleasant greeting upon the initial approach into the area. Otherwise, individuals will simply walk by without stopping, or merely grab a few freebies along the way.

When it comes to science fiction and fantasy conventions, there are numerous ones which occur around the world each year. Some of the most exciting are in the city of Las Vegas. The Convention and Visitors Bureau can often provide a list of annual conventions, conferences, festivals and other events upon request.

At other times, new vendors may be confused on what items are offered at different events. When this is the case, it is easy to find out. Simply contact the vending association putting on the show and ask. Otherwise, what might have sold at one event may go unsold at another. It is also good for those planning on vending at future events to visit current booths so as to not duplicate product.

Whether an international, national, regional or local show, it is often good to have a booth. Booths are often used as a way to distribute information as much as product. While there may be a large flow of people through any one show, most pick up business cards in hope of making contact at a later date. When planning a give away, it is good to list any ingredients in food or drink and assure there is enough stock for the event.

It is important to understand what is and is not expected in the way of privacy when attending events with other people. It is never good to talk behind another person's back but some may not even want others to know about the trip. A brief discussion with the group about privacy and other trip related issues can often save a great deal of heartbreak in the long run.

"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" is a good slogan though not always true. If advertising never made it out of Las Vegas, then many businesses would be out of business. It is for this reason, so many vendors want to vend at events in the city.
