What To Consider When Shopping For Clean Burning Candles

Dark rooms pose so much risk. For one, it is hard to navigate in a dark room without tripping. You can break a limb or even damage items that you knock on your way. The unnecessary accidents can be avoided by keeping a candle handy at home. A candle also serves where you do not need so bright light like electric light. Candlelight is very powerful, it enhances the aesthetic appeal of a room giving way to better relationships and conversations. How can you ensure you only have clean burning candles at home?

A candle is beneficial only when burned. Sadly, it is during the burning that the risks from wax sticks manifest. For instance, if a candle is made of harmful chemicals, the toxins will be released during burning. When the fumes are inhaled then the damages happen. A candle typically has three parts of components; the wax, the wicks, and the scent.

The wax used to make the candle can be harmful. This is where it is made from paraffin or petroleum source. The best wax that can make clean candlesticks should be from beeswax, vegetable wax, soy wax or hemp oil wax. The candlesticks made from these safe wax burns clean and do not expose you to cancer risk. So, it is a good idea to always read labels for components of the candle before buying.

The material used to make candle wicks also determines whether the product is safe or not. Ideally, wax sticks should be able to burn for up to 50 hours. But when the wrong material is used to make the wicks, it can barely last that long. Wicks made from lead materials are not safe. Manufacturers are aware that lead has been banned but they still use it to make candle wicks. So, be keen on the ingredients of a candle so you are not tricked.

Fragrance makes the scent of a burning candle inviting. It is the secret behind the sweet smell you would feel inside a candlelit room. But, the fragrance sources can be oils that are toxic. The fragrance in a candle can cause allergens that cause disease. You must ensure that the wax sticks you buy have hundred percent naturally derived essential oils.

As you can see, this lighting product is only complete when it has wax, the wicks, and fragrance. It serves its purpose better when all the three components are complete. You must, therefore, ensure that you are only using candles made from materials that are natural and non-toxic. Even when you are using them for yoga sessions, they must be safe.

Prepare the candle so that it gives you clean burning. A clean burn should not emit soot. It should be a beautiful light that is steady and just enough for the room. Trim wicks of candles to recommended length before lighting them. Have a good candle holder for a stable flame.

With the best candle, you will be sure of the best lighting. You will avoid soot as you will have clean light. You also must be careful that you never touch burning candle and use candle snuffer when you need to blow them out. If you notice any abnormal burning, please be quick to blow out the flames.
