By Ruthie Calderon

Many people living in America and other places like to collect toys that are really unique and expensive. Marvel action figures have been around for such a long time and any true collector would like to have these statues within their homes. Movies like "The Avengers, " "Fantastic Four, " "X-Men" and others have made each and every one of these dolls very popular among the fans.

Thor and the rest of Avengers have been living in the same city for decades. None of these fictional characters ever seem to age and they also get younger looking as the years go by. One particular toy industry named Mego wanted to make a replica of Thor many years ago. Their plan proved to be successful since the doll was so great looking. His hair was long and wavy and all of his clothing was unique.

He comes with his hammer, helmet and boots and this item is worth tons of money if it is found in new condition. The dolls which are missing certain accessories are cheaper in price and they are usually easier to locate. Someone could expect to spend thousands of dollars on a Thor model that was new and still standing within his original box.

The Thor items made by a company named Toy Biz were very inferior to the Mego brands. Unfortunately a child could not remove Thor's helmet since it is attached to his head. All of his clothes are also painted on to his body and therefore he could never dress in other outfits. Anyone could purchase this item in its seven or six inch form. Every American toy store carried this doll at some point in time.

Fortunately the comic book producers were always able to write and draw a new villain within their tales. "The Fantastic Four" always had the pleasure of fighting with a super bad man named Dr. Doom. He wore an iron mask in order to hide his hideous facial features from the entire world. People often wondered why Mego did not make a great looking doll which resembled the mighty Dr. Doom.

Spider Man had the chance to fight with the Green Goblin on countless occasions during his years of tackling crime. The Goblin's statue was created by Toy Biz and Mego. According to many individuals Mego's version was quite good and looked very realistic. The artists who designed this statue took the time to make him look as evil as possible. The newer versions of this villain can be purchased at any Toys R Us within the United States.

The Sentinels are a group of giants who are constantly trying to destroy Professor Charles Xavier and the X-Men. These daring robots are at least twenty feet tall and they are very strong and dangerous. Many individuals know that Toy Biz created excellent versions of these monstrous villains many years ago.

The true toy collector will search high and low in order to buy a Spider Woman doll which was released many years ago. Spider Woman is not as popular as the Invisible Girl but she does have her moments. Decades ago ABC television produced an animated series named "Spider Woman." The show was not a great hit but people still enjoyed the style and glamour of this particular character. Nowadays her doll is almost impossible to get from local dealers.
