Harrison Hot Springs Community In A Nutshell

Devastation of former natural bucolic environments has been as a result of rapid growth of urbanization. The Harrison Hot Springs Community has been able to stand this challenge and it is capable of offering a rustic touch that is free from overcrowding and a beautiful panorama that is all natural. Here, we take a brief tour through the life of this town.

This small community has been in existence acting as a resort village for a time period beginning about 1886. The hoteliers exploited this place and it was incorporated on the year 1949. The hot springs, which are also its namesake, acts as the main tourist attraction drawing people to relish themselves in the village spa resort. A series of hot springs characterizes the village and the content of sulfur goes on decreasing as you move northwards.

Geologists have made a note of a rock that is unstable above northern ends of the great Harrison Lake that is fresh water. The rock has been predicted to fall on the lake producing a wave that will be mighty to cause devastation on the town of Harrison Hot Springs that is situated on the south end. The time this will occur is still unknown but for sure it is not in the foreseen future and there might be some geological activities that may rectify this.

Over the few past years this town has experienced a steady growth in population. The economic activity is majorly characterized by tourism that is brought about by the springs presence. The working population is characterized by roughly more than half the population getting employment from the service sectors while the rest is employed by construction, government, retail and manufacturing as well as further minor activities on different fields.

The corporation of this community got incorporated as a municipality in 1949 through the initiative of Andy Naismith. The community is presided by a mayor and other four councilors. It is also part of the provincial electoral district of Chilliwak-Hope. At the federal level, it gets its representation by the House of Commons of Canada.

The near proximity to Seattle and Vancouver makes Harrison to become a perfect retreat for all year round. A myriad of happenings are offered and they range from boating and fishing to rock climbing, skiing and exploration on this bucolic countryside. Apart from that, a few places can also boast of four golf courses which are at a drive of about fifteen minutes.

The resorts in this town are furnished with fine rooms and comfy beds and the pools which are hot are more fantastic. Their staffs are highly professional and friendly and they are always ready to help you in maneuvering about. They have very sumptuous meals which are worth their cost. The surrounding landscapes and gardens offer very beautiful panoramas to this town.
